Hey guys,

Need some advice. I recently (about a month ago) went to Vonage for my phone service. It's actually worked very well and I've enjoyed it. A couple nights ago we had a pretty big storm. All my computer and network equipment are plugged into a battery backup/surge protector. When I woke up the next morning my phone adapter router (Phone Router (http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?childpagename=US%2FLayout&packedargs=c%3DL_Product_C2%26cid%3D1115416833020&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper)) was able to connect to the internet, but the phone ports were dead as a doornail. I have tried resetting and "power cycling" with every available network setup to try and get it working again, to no avail.

Anyone else have any experience with Vonage and/or this particular router?

My roommate has Vonage and that router. I don't acutally use it but of course I had to setup. We moved about 4 months ago and her old router just would not work anymore. It worked fine before the move, but after the move it would just blink incessantly. She ended up getting a free replacement and it's been working fine since.

Unfortunately I can't tell you what may have caused the problems, so I guess I'm saying these particular routers seem to be a bit flakey. Actually our old place had some prety ancient wiring so we would blow circuits alot so perhaps those surges, similar to what you mentioned, may have softened the router up (though of course in our new place the wiring is now worse and we're now left blowing fuses :bang head ). In any event I would recommend contacing Vonage and see if the well send you a replacement router at no charge.

I havent had a problem with mine yet (almost positive its the same model) for my vonage. This will be my fourth or fifth month now. The router does seem a bit cheap, but its been chiuggin along all along so im satisfied. The only thing I use the router for is the voip though, not one comp is hooked to or anything, so I dont know if that effects anything.
