The Glaciator II was delivered this morning in a nice plain box which gave its only clue to the contents by proudly displaying a "Millennium Thermal Solutions" stamp on the side. Upon opening I was greated by some of the most clearly written instructions to grace my palms for a while and a small packet of artic silver paste.
The heatsink is a rather heavy product being solid copper, the finish on it can not be faulted, it features exceptional workmanship, the base of the heatsink did not need lapping as it already had an impressive finish which was protected by a clear cover during transit. This heatsink has the very best clip I have ever laid my hands on making fitting a breeze.

Tempartures are now great and the noize from the fan is exceptionally low, overall a great product which imho is well worth the money

Is the noise any louder, quieter?

About how many applications of ASII are in that 0.6 gram packet? (how many CPU/heat sink combo's could you coat?)

I have had my Glaciator II running for about 5 days now and it is excellent.

I replaced my Volcano 6Cu (not a Cu+ with the screamer fan).

I can report that my temps are about 5 - 7 degrees C cooler with it and the noise is just a little louder than my original 6Cu which was almost silent or at least was not any louder than my case fans (2).

It really is very quiet and my BIOS and MBM report a fan RPM of around 6000.

This is a pretty great HSF for the money, but in looking at it vs. the original (just pictures of the original, I did not own one), I don't know how much of a dramatic improvement it is over the original.

Also, the packet of Arctic silver could do at least 3 HSF installations and maybe four. I used it when installing the Glaciator and while putting my old 6Cu on a Duron and I still have enough left to do another, and I probably put it on thicker than I needed to. But, I'd say safely you could do 3.

I've done about five or six so far, and I still have lots and lots left. :)

Yeh, that small amount of ASII goes a long way.
