What, in your opinion, is the best bang for my buck sound card?

I'd say the Sound Blaster Live Value. I haven't had any problems with it, although some with Via chipsets do.

audigy is good, so is the x gamer, and the 5.1 sb live and the regular sb live is great

here's a question: The SB audigy? I only have a 2.1 speaker system...is it worth it to get this guy?

2 speaker + sub?

And, 2 QUALITY speakers + sub?

If you have two crappy speakers then definately get a good sound system before buying an Audigy,

Best board I've owned for the money. $99 last time I looked.
Possibly cheaper on E-Bay.

It has more options than my wife's kitchen gadjets!

the altec atp3...quality sound...basically a handout from my dad...I think it'll be a stopgap until i get my 5.1 surround sound on! But until then i got quality 2.1 sound...will it be worth it to get the audigy...or do I save for great speakers and use my onboard sound for a bit?
