Lowering Ping?

I wanted to lower my ping for gaming, I hear there are a few tricks / tips that can lower your ping by a few. Is there any proggies I can mess with to improve that? Thanks.

I used to play around with some of those programs but they didnt seem to help as much. Also, some can mess up your network settings and can actually increase your ping.

not really much you can do, except get a better connectionbetween you and the server, like a lan. other than that, i don think theres much you can do. unless theres unnecessary routers and stuff between you and your modem.
