both tests were run on the same server, restarted and cleared browser cache before i began the second test...i'd say 1101 and 1119 isn't bad for a connection rated at 1mb :D

For those advertised speeds, that's very good. It's nice to see an ISP deliver above what they rate their speeds at.

Not much you can tweak really - unless browser tweaks - but i think this has more to do with the ISP providing speeds they say they can and backing it up with a giood subsystem.
i wouild say try various servers in various countries / states - most speeds are limited not by the ISP - but by the source / location of the file / server
many ISP's DO cache files locally on their servers to provided a "faster" appearance to their systems.
Too many people think WOW i got a 5mb cable line - what little you know is that 5mb is only a "top" speed you can hit and really only that 5mb is garunteed is from your house to your ISP gateway - once it hits the internet - you , nor your ISP has any control over the speed.

Yo guys,i agree with you on that Mr. Guvernment... to answer your questions, this is using using Frontiernet.net isp, i live in a small town in arizona and this is the best you can get (was on dsl waiting list for 8 months lol). I have not done any browser tweaks, just been using cablenut and firefox 1.06.. I've been using cablenut to change settings and various internet sites such as speedguide.net, and, dslreports.com to gather information about similar 1mb adsl connections. And, yes i have tried various internet sites to test my speed, they varied from 1.22mb, 1164k, 1100k, and so forth so it's not reporting incorrect speeds. I'm happy to be getting over 1mb, especially since more people tweaking their connection hope to get 80% of their rated line speed and i'm gettin' over 100%.
