, i following the how to for boinc joined the team, it jus twont download work :| know what im doing wrong ?

Yep, like eaglescouter said, they probably wont be back up till Monday, and even then there will be a rush for work units, so it may take a little bit more time to get a connection.

Berkeley figured it would be better to shut the system down, and let the backlogs work there way out, and do other repairs/improvements, rather then have the system continue to limp around.

Your other alternative is to join up with one of the other BOINC projects that were BOINCing for, you can later when SETI gets back up, set your resource share to keep most of your time going towards SETI.

Since they have spent a week doing a major cleaning out of the systems I'm hoping it will be quite stable for a while.

I have my BOINC set to cache 10 days worth of work and I almost never run out.

At the rate it's going now all backed up units should be validated by morning. They fired the splitters up a few hours ago and the available work is going up nicely. So my guess is everything will be back in operation tomorrow. ;)

Give it some time - they are just coming online after a multi-day outage, so the systems will be responding very slowly as all the users try to upload completed work units and (in your case) get new work.
