After reading the stickies I know I want RAM with TCCD chips for my Venice, to replace the Geil Value PC3200 that I have, which does no more than 220Mhz.

My Venice 3500+ runs 2.8Ghz with 1.47v, on a DFI NF4 SLIDR motherboard.

I'm not very familiar with how the different versions of TCCD stack up in terms of performance, and am looking through all the reviews which takes some time, so I thought it might be worth posting my choices here in case some of you RAM experts might be able to tell me which would be a good choice :p

there's a rather large spread in prices, so I was wondering if the spread in performance is just as large?

Being in Belgium, my choices seem to be limited to the following:

shop 1.5 hour's drive away (3 hour round trip):

Corsair TWINX1024-3200XL, 224 Euros
Corsair TWINX1024-4400, 235 Euros
Corsair TWINX1024-3200XLPRO, 246 Euros
Corsair TWINX1024-4000PRO, 265 Euros

GeIL Ultra Dual Channel 1024Mb PC3200 Platinum HSP, 152 Euros
GeIL Ultra Dual Channel 512Mb PC3500 Platinum HSP, 185 Euros
GeIL Ultra Dual Channel 1024Mb PC4000 Platinum HSP, 185 Euros
GeIL ONE S Dual Channel 1024Mb PC3200, 258 Euros (read these do PC600 out of the box?)

shop 0.5 hour's drive away (1 hour round trip):

MUSHKIN 1GB DUAL PACK PC3200 222 LII V2, 222 Euros

(OCZ's EL is available but just too expensive for me.... around 400 Euros for 2x512MB)

It's a lot so I understand if there are no takers, but I thought it's worth a try :)

At the moment I'm leaning towards either the Geil ONE S, Corsair 4400, or the Mushkin if I don't feel like taking the 3 hour drive :p

Of the ones on your list I would go for the Corsair 4400. Some sticks that were formally tccd are not as the supply dries up. The 4400 definately are and they are first rate chips from a top company. They look like the safest bet. I have tccd from pqi and they do not match up to Corsair's. Good luck.

Mate,

The Mushkin is TCC5, not TCCD. I have not seen anybody report DDR600 with those Mushkin Lvl 2 V2's. The next best thing to OCZ would be Corsair 4400 (in your list). Personally, I would choose PDP Patriot XBLK < $160. If you set the timings right, 285MHz is guarenteed (the company doesn't say that, but I do..from experience :D).

OMG thanks for the fast replies

Corsair 4400 rather than the Geil ONE S then

edit: newegg doesn't ship internationally... are there any trustworthy vendors selling one of these affordable fast RAM (I'm guessing Patriot for the win? ) that do?
