Just go to your local auto store and buy some anti-freeze. Make it about 10% anti-freeze and 90% distilled water.

ya i just read somethin about the anti-freeze and what percents to use but then i saw that people were saying that the blue anti-freeze can stain your tubes, i really want to try not to stain my tues or reservior so if anybody has any suggestions.....

yes its true, blue antifreeze stains the heck outta Clearflex 60, but it wont stain Mcmaster's MasterKleer tubing. my clearflex 60 in my loop, clouded like no ones business, Masterkleer, clean as a whistle.

Clearflex was in for a shorter time then the MasterKleer

Clearflex 60 :

CCUABIDExORxDIE

agreed. 37 cents per foot of 7/16th masterkleer vs cheapest 75 cents per foot of Clearflex 60. ill take masterkleer anyday.

08-31-05, 07:37 PM
wow.... thats crazy how much it stains the tubing... what site can i get the masterkleer from.. and does anybody have an idea of where i can put my radiator? Well my wc parts have made it to SHAWNEE, KS from ALBUQUERQUE, NM and i live in FL so hopefully by the end of this week or next week i can post pics of my stuff...

replace your pump to D5 since you got huge rad in your system

what case do you have?? Try along the bottom or top of the case.

www.mcmaster.com <- page 82 the 7/16" ID with 3/32" wall is the stuff you want.

You need to host the files, or use IMG tags. To host u save the picture then go to photobucket or someother free hoster and uplaod the pics.

If its just an internet picture: take the URL and surround it in the *IMG* */IMG* code but the "*" will be replaced with "[" and "]"

also... im wondering is my pump going to work with this radiator long enough for me to get a better pump? maybe say a couple of weeks or months...

also if anybody has suggestions on case modding or anything i should do to the computer ... add your input

By suggesting the D5, he didn't mean that the current pump isn't going to work with your radiator...it's just that the D5 should work a little better. What you have should work just fine.

Not sure how you would mod the system to add your radiator...you may need to find a way to mount it externally.

ah i see.... well sweet i will try to get that pump asap but oh for the radiator yes i would like the coolest mounting spot or even if i could mount it in front of my window airconditioning unit across the room..

Mounting it across the room would be a lot of tubing length, and you'd end up with a pretty low flowrate. How about bolting it to the side of your case? Or would it fit onto your side panel?

kriffer
09-01-05, 06:24 AM
oh... no no thats not what i meant...lol i meant ill move my computer in whole like monitor and all of that across the room and set it up next to the airconditioner... just wondering if the a/c will actually make a big difference in temps if the radiator was in front of it... and i would probally have to cut at my case to mount it to the side...

If you were to mount the radiator in front of the AC (or actually duct it to the AC) you would probably get very good results, provided it's always on.

If your tubes are being stained the color of the additives I really wouldn't worry about it--you'll never notice unless you take the loop apart and compare the stained parts to the non-stained parts. Staining is a problem when the additives make the tubing some "other" color. For example, Zerex was a pretty red color but it made my tubing white--which detracted from the whole effect of having red "water". I'm using the (very expensive, $27 a gallon) Toyota red antifreeze right now--I guess I'll find out how well it works. But, if everything basically stays red, I'll be happy with it.

hmmm.... i might consider putting the radiator in front of the AC. And about the tubing yes im kinda concerned just becuase i wanted the setup to look nice and clear... and i did want to stain it if i could... is there any anti freeze thats UV which isn't a bad stain?

yay the shipment got in today all of it.... the waterblock.. pump...pro3 rad..res..tubing and all that... but what i started to think was how am i going to wire the 3 fans for the radiator?

SewerBeing
09-03-05, 10:39 AM
Depends on the fans if you have the 3pin connectors I would get a 3pin to 4pin converter and hook them up to a molex from a psu (all fans to one psu molex should work). If they are already 4pin then just wire em to a molex. If they have no tails then what I would do for wiring convenience is wire them all to 1 molex (yellow = 12V, black = ground, red = 5V on the molex).

looks very nice, if you shorten that tubing going to and from the rad it would be a bit cleaner but this looks very good

09-03-05, 04:22 PM
thanks... im going to add some water wetter for a couple of days, then i will switch it out for anti freeze... ill post more pics

johan851
09-03-05, 05:52 PM
Why add water wetter and then switch it out? Better if you just leave it and get some antifreeze later, IMO. Water wetter will probably stain the tubing permanently.

What fans are those?

kriffer
09-03-05, 06:01 PM
fdelta's 130 cfm.... i will wait but.. what do you think is the best antifreeze to get?

kriffer
09-03-05, 06:02 PM
sry about that delta's 130cfm

Go for the GM Dex-Cool qualified stuff. It should be red/orange, not green, and should say something to the effect of high endurance, 50,000 miles. Since your setup isn't mixing any metals, I'd go for about 5% (or even less) antifreeze. All copper systems like yours shouldn't have any problems with corrosion.

kriffer
09-03-05, 11:01 PM
will that stain my tubing?

kriffer
09-03-05, 11:22 PM
also will just food color dye stain the tubes?

10-28-05, 11:48 PM
wow, my tubes are stained.... i used water wetter.. that red line stuff.. ya but...
