Hello,

Im in the process of building a gaming rig with an A64 3000+ and a DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D.

Id really like the system to have 2GB of RAM working dual ddr or at least leave myself that option for the future.

Currently, Im considering a buy of one of the following:

1. [2X512M] The always recommended, famous, "plat rev2" which will give me 1Gig dual ddr with great timing and oc potential but only 1 Gig. [~170$]
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146890

OR

2. [1X1G] A good 1Gig stick , also from OCZ with worse timing but something that will allow me to upgrade in the future with another one and then work 2G dual ddr. [~180$]

OR

3. [2X1G] Two 1Gig sticks for the price of one. Well of course their timings sux but you get 2Gigs of ram. I believe I`ll be able to oc these less then the above two but I`ll have 2Gigs of RAM which is more important for gaming (or am I wrong ?) [103X2=~206$]

What do you think is the best choice for me (again, a gamer , not world class overclocker)

Thanks

your 3rd link is a DDR2 memory so i think it's out of the question

i'd suggest either 1GB kit or 2GB kit to fully utilise the available tech of your platform.. socket 939 supports Dual Channel so u might want 2 sticks running..

if it's only 1st and 2nd option i'd go for the first..

Thanx for the correction, I made a mistake with the link and now its fixed.

if u're not overclocking having 2gb and those timings (3rd fixed link) will be fine..

and u'll see improvements in BF2 :p

i have no idea what ICs are used.. but i don't think it's made to overclock.. (but who knows.. u might be the one discovering it ;))
