I recently reinstalled XP Pro on my daughers junky 1.8Ghz system, and now it boots faster than my system. :eh?:
So I want to reinstall XP Pro on my rig, but was wondering if I leave my D: & E: hdd do I just need to copy the shorcuts of those programs to my launchbar?

yes, you can also backup your start menu.
However: many programs might not run without being properly installed. Office for example won#t work properly without reinstall in the new windows version. Even games won't always work, e.g. my Civilization 3 needs to be reinstalled before it works again in the new version.
If you have 'installed' programs on D and E, chances are good they install dll's and other to c:, so just copying a shortcut won't work, you'll have to re-install the progs. If D and E just contain data, then you are OK
