I never own ATI card but read alot about driver support with the older card. Not very good suport. To be safe, Geforce 3 is a sure bet. New drivers out all the time to improve performance. Sure I'll pay more for that.

Well I have to say I have owned 3 ATI cards , my latest is the Radeon 64 DDR VIVO and I have had none of the driver issues you speak of. I run XP using the beta XP driver and I get great performance.
Sure the ATI driver is a bit immature for the Radeon 8500 but you can bet that by next driver release it will be coorected in the next month or so. The Radeon will clearly beat the G3 in benchmarks. Toms just did a quick review today on the 8500 and basically said the only thing holding it back right now is an immature driver, you know this will be corrcted very shortly.
I just wanna know why you will pay more for a card that does not have as good dvd playback or 2d video quality & fewer technical features . The Radeon will rock very shortly, why not wait a month see what happens and grab one then, it is /will be the card to have fer sure.

Tell me something. Everyone is screaming about the Detonator 4's. How they are getting 20% increases in performance.
If nVidia drivers are so much better than ATI's why are you getting this performance increase now instead of 3 drivers ago? If nVidia is soooo good with their drivers why werent these increases incorporated into the original or second generation driver?
Actually, ATI just released new drivers for the Radeon 64MB DDR w/ VIVO card yesterday. Read the thread about them HERE (http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40968) :)
*EDIT* - Actually, it seems that ATI has just released new drivers for all of the Radeon video cards!!!
