hi guys, nice to meet u all,
I just got 1 simple question..
I have my 1.4@1.54ghz rite now. and I have it sitting at 45c idle.. is that ok?
thankz.
Welcome to the Forums. That's about right. Just be cautious if your temps get above 55c-60c. I run around 47c all the time, maybe even more.

the operating temp of the atherlon goes up to 95 degrees celcus, you are fine
Welcome to the forums.
45c is a pretty good temp for 1.5 gigs. I'm running at 1400 and see temps from 41c to 48c depending on the warmth of the room. This is under full load mind you.
You might want to get a program like shutdown now and install it so that if you hit a temp like 60c or whatever you choose, the machine will autoshut down. I've got mine set to 55c.

Not to bad, but bear in mind that although they go up to 95C (mine hit 88 when the fan was knocked off.....) But they get unstable at around 60C.
You don't really need worry to much though,(think of laptops...although there are no AMD ones.)if u wish to decrease the temps you might want to get some artic silver which works out at about £5, that can lower it by up to 5C!!!
Mine is a 1gig @ 1.2gig @1.82v and max is 45C on a hot day, room 33C!!!! (Rare in england.....)
And i have not thermal grease! But with the 7000delta and 5000delta case fan and etc you wouldn't expect things to get that hot...... But 60DB's!!!!! Ouch!

nick, your temps are prolly inaccurate. No TIM and a heavy overclock would not allow such temps. BTW did you take The Coolest's avatar? He has the same one I think.
BTW Moonman, those temps are good if they are accurate. Extra cooling would allow a higher overclock. Its your choice.

Hey Overclocker, Did I hear you right?
 95C!!!!!!!
I am impressed that thing dident BLOW!
First... Welcome aboard!
Second... I would agree with the rest of the posts here... you should be fine at that temp. Im presuming that your only air cooling? If so, I wouldnt suggest o/c'ing it much further without keeping a really good eye on it... But congrats on a successful o/c and welcome aboard!!!

And yes my temps are perfectly accurate, on a cool day its 40c after about 10 hours on max load.
But bear in mind that i have 4 45cfm blowers blowing out, 3 30cfm fans in, a 5000 delta blowing out, a 7000 rpm cpu fan, a orange orb, fan on northbridge and a hdd cooler.
All positioned so the heat gets disapated as soon as it arrrives.
The case never goes more than 1c over room temp!
And the overclocker didn't hit 95C a he has only just got a duron he used to have celerons..... but mine hit 91c when the fan got knocked off and i was playing quake....... just pulled the plug in time.
