I have a dead lappy that i pulled apart today (well yesterday sorta) and for some reason it has the 479m socket. I thought this was only for the pentium 4Ms but I have a pentium 4 2.8ghz processor. Can someone clarify this for me?
edit: I don't know the board, don't know how to find out.

Update, I got the cpu off the heatsink (darn thermal adhesive) and on it it says, 2.80ghz/512/533
sl6pp philippines

My question is, would this work in a 478 socket mobo? Or would it only work in a 479 socket. This is a pentium 4 not a pentium 4-M
