I made THIS (http://www.freewebs.com/demisepb/index.html) site for my team for sponsorship reasons. It has yet to become ".com"ed but it will be shorty. Some pages are still undersconstruction. On the "The Team" page...there willl be 10-12 players.
How can I have 2 coulloms with 2 pictures in each row going down and having a link on them so as to be able to link to a more detailed profile?
How can I make the pictures turn black and white when I run my mouse over the picture?
We also have a forum but I have not linked that yet. If you would like to edit the code for me and post here go for it. The code will be available till I no longer need assistance then I will disable righ clicks.
Im also looking for general suggestion and codes. I really would like to impress the sponsors for we not only have a great bunch of guyz but a serious tournament record and plan to go to the world cup at the end of this season(october). We are asking some pretty important sponsors and I know my spelling isnt great in this thread so I must have messed something up on the site. Please correct me.
Thanks for any feedback.

for the pics, you can do either tables or align left / right, then just put in the <A HREF=..... code, then where you would have the text and whatnot for the link just putin the IMG SRC=... code to make the pic the link. for the mouseover to B&W, im not relly sure how to do that, i'd assume it's some javascript to do it.
I wouldnt boter with the disabling right clicks, it will jsut anoy people, and wont stop them from viewing your source or anything.
did you use a WYSIWYG editor or something similar? i'm seeing stuff like 2 <BODY> tags, and it looks lik you grabbed a bunch of java scripts and threw in there. and it looks like the tables are done like WYSIWYGs like to do, a complicated and whatnot. and the excessive use of <P> tags.
Dont link to picso n other peoples sites, thats evil. (http://images.google.com/images?q=tbn:LjC7ainaebsJ:http://cabanel.jennifer.free.fr/galerie_anarchisme_et_atheisme_3/images/215-b_x-skull.jpg)
the calander, in my opinion, too much, the extra stuff like that is what me think of peoples sites being a big mess of code they found all over thrown into one big mess. ever see the episode of the simpsons where homer gets a computer and makes his web page? the dancing baby and all that crap... reminds me somewhat of that.
I reccomend learning and doing all the HTML by hand, it will clean up the code alot and gives more a sence of ccomplishment. a great resource is http://www.htmlgoodies.com
hope osme of this helps, none if it is intended to be insulting, if i come across that way.

Jim,
Thank you for the constructive critsism. I went back and checked the codes and realized one of the teammates added the <p> tags. There are a few extra thing because it was origionnaly dont with a simple editor for people who dont know HTML. I just cut and pasted a few things.
Sorry about the image, I didnt think it was a bad Idea, but i will take it out.
Your right about the calendar. I just wanted to take up that side of the page, any Idea on what to put in its place?
I guess ill use Bitshape iEdit and start from scratch at htmlgoodies. (WYSIWGs????).
How can i make the page so that only the middle page refreshes but the outer rim/navigation bars and banners stay the same and dont reload each time?

You'd have to use frames, and set it to cache the nav and other sidebar pages. I wopuld say that iif you wanted to use that image and had copywright permissions, to just right click it, save, then upload it to your host, so you arent eating their bandwidth, and that way if they ever decide to take the content off the site, you still have it. WYSIWYG stands for what you see is what you get, referring to editors like dreamweaver and frontpage.
I just think that having too busyt of a page looks unprofessional, and from a code standpoint ive always hated the extra stuff that isnt needed. and you might want ot consider asses that run crazy resolutions like 1600 by 1200, and then others who run 800x600, they can throw off the sizings and layout, so if you have a monitor to handle it you could check that. and mayba consideration for all the old win95 boxes, although they probably arent in your target audience.
