These are one of the best TCCD's that you can get but for much lower price you could get some Platn Rev2 which are TCC5's and will get you close results with slightly different timings. Also if you have mobo that can provide Vdimm you can look into some UTT's like XP's or VX's which will do high freq with tight timings. But then again LE's have made their mark in OC'ing world.

As for heatspreaders if you are planning on using active cooling it is better to have them off.

I'd say if you have the money it would be better to get 2GB kit since that is the way to go these days. For few more $$ you could get 2x1GB of Balistix which clock like crazy considering that they are 1GB sticks.
