Ok, well, it is only a P200 (actually an overclocked P166).
This is a good story though. So today I decide to take off the HS from my P166 to see if there is a way to attach the old fan from my old PII 450 (dead mobo).
So, I take off the HS and what do I see...a sticker stuck to the top of the CPU. It was an ID sticker like they would have in a warehouse so they can tell what CPU they are grabbing out of the bin. All these years it has been in between the HS and the CPU. Well, it was pretty crusty and practically part of the CPU core. I removed it with a razor blade and replaced the HS. I bet that sticker was really helping my heat transfer... :D
I then attached the fan to the HS using silicone (still drying). But, it is now stable at 200 and should be able to complete the folds in the allotted time.
So, that's my story for the day.
Later,
DB
PS. Newegg accepted my RMA for my fried equipment :)
