RADEON 8500 will benefit from ATI drivers released today for all OS systems!!

too bad toms hardware said that half the games dont work....it got 70fps in unreal tourney for gods sae (1600*1024*32)......

Toms hardware is biased towards nvidia cards thats the bottom line, He does not give any credit to the strong points of the 8500 he just sweeps that under the mat and goes on about the Geforce. Botttom line is Radeon 8500 kicked the Ti card at its own game 3dmark2001.

Also tom mentioned that the reason for the poor performance was due to the immature drivers. Why use a game that is like 2 yrs old to test the card that uses dx7 when the Radeon will really shine w dx8.1. I can not figure out their logic on that one.

The 8500 only got beat in 5 benchmarks with an older driver, lets see what happens based on the new drivers that have been released, my guess is you will see a huge performance increase, and I would say there will be another release to follow.

I have not had a prob with my ddr vivo 64 ddr using beta xp driver or the driver bundled on my xp disc I am currently using and perfoprmance has been great!!

yeah, everyone brings up driver problems but i never had any with my rage fury pro......i still think its wrong though to release retail drivers before they work with half the games......its not like Unreal Tourney or Quake III Arena are obscure games......

hmm, this article has changed my mind somewhat in the battle between the GF3 ti-500 and the 8500.

I've always been a big nvidia fan though.

i think when it comes down to it, the lower priced card is the one ill likely end up with come x-mas time ;)

I go there to laugh. Laugh at his unsupported claims. His bias towards whatever is selling the most at the time so he can get his free hardware.

Man I've been grumpy today. Wife's been away for two weeks, she comes home tonight. I'll finally get a chance to rid myself of all this extra testosteone and maybe I'll mellow out a tad.
