I am thinking about upgrading my rig to 775. I like my asus board so I will probably stick with them. I saw on newegg that DFI has a ddr and ddr2 board.
If I upgrade I will have to ukpgrade everything correct(ram, video, cpu motherboard). The rig in my sig has been clocked like that for a year no troubles.
Will I benefit any from this or should I wait for some newer chipsets and proc. to come out. I figure upgrade to be about $1326 from Newegg
Asus P5WD2 $192
OCZ 2x1gb ddr2 ddr800 $499
EVGA 7800GT $419
640 775 EM64T $216.50
Plus $75 fo rthe swiftech strorm.
Is there anywhere I can cut and still have good performance and future upgradability?
Is this overkill?

looks good to me ~ id make a few changes tho...
dont blow $500 of ram.. lol
i got 2 gigs of pc5400 from monarch for $200 - doing me goooood :)
and id go for the P5WD2 premium

other than that.. it looks good to me

annn o btw - you will need a 24 pin psu ~id recommend the 500W bluestorm...

I agree, you could easily save $200 on the RAM and still get some good quality stuff that overclocks well.
