HIS x800xl VS x700Pro temps

I had a x700Pro and it was room temp to the touch (heatsink area). The new HIS x800xl with the huge cooler on it, is same on the processor side, but the heat sink thing on the back is pretty hot.......is it supposed to be like that?

x700pro heat output is much much less than the x800xl. I would assume the x800xl's temps can be read by maybe ATItool

x700 card I believe is a different core.... I don't think you can really compare the two.... in any case you can read temps using ATI tool (V24) for an X800XL. Good coolers should have an X800XL Between 30-35°C at idle.
