I'm staying at my company's appt. in Merrick?..near Belmore. Right off Jerusalem Avenue (105). Right near the Southern State Parkway. Got my crappy work laptop..at least we've got a cable modem and cable tv..:)

I'm working at Plainedge School district fixing desktop issues, printer stuff (basic user created problems), retasking and installing old/new PC's, etc. We're putting in an IP phone system from Cisco as well so I've been helping install the phones and go over the basic features w/ the Teachers/Administrators.

I'm assuming you're near here..NYC maybe? I remember you saying you lived down here but can't remember where...EDIT..DUH...look at the profile stupid! Queens!

I'm working on figuring out all this 2.0 stuff, including a text-based command line client for Windows! Once I talk with TT120, I think we'll have it all figured out. Oh, and TT120, ICQ me.

is it better to have the screensaver one or teh regular client. I mean which one is faster?

Don't know. The text client has less overhead though. The other client can run without the screensaver and the speeds should be similar. I think the only way we'll find out for sure is to run both and compare the results. It's not going to be easy right now though. I have dl'd several different proteins already today. We did some of them already. This may be the final test before tomorrows official release date.

Ok downloaded the new client only. I have it up and running as robjustice and for team 32. On this computer I also have 2 instances of 1.34 running. I will keep an eye on the times and see if it is faster. One thing is interesting to note-my first protein only has 20 frames and 100000 steps. Does anyone know it the stats are going to roll over from 1.34 or are they starting from zero? If they are starting at zero, and 2.0 is stable I will switch them all over later today.

The proteins that they are running on 2.0 are all over the place in terms of size. I did a trpzip_n that was 400 steps. It flew through the steps but it was interesting to see it. There were some that were 20 steps, that moved very slowly and some that were 100 steps. Interesting anyway. Hopefully we'll be able to benchmark these different proteins but there is so much moving around on the protein front right now that it may prove a little difficult.
I successfully ran two instances of the text only (NOT the graphical console)version and just turned in two proteins and received credit for them both. So there is hope.
Also. I don't think that anyone knows what is going to happen with the stats including Vijay. Wish we had an answer, but nothing they come up with seems to make sense when put into the perspective of the teams that are folding.

when will we get timestamps in the log??????

i wonder if its possible to somehow right a program that could do this for us......

Some of the client will be open source so that we will be able to create add ons, make changes, etc. At least that's what was promised a couple of months ago so who knows. It would be nice to see some programmers clean the client up a bit.
