Hi All,

Been a bit out of the loop lately with computer hardware but trying to get back into things. Ever since my 2200+ System in my signature was up and running, it has been flawlessly stable for me for the last few years and has served me well for school. I overclocked it a few times in the beginning but have been running it stock since I have not needed to squeeze the system for more speed. I really don't have that much of a problem with speed or anything but I would definitely like to upgrade in the next little while, at least before christmas at the latest.

I know prices will drop and hardware will change by then but just trying to get an idea of how much money I could earn to put towards an upgrade, either total cost or part by part, trying to budget my money for school so I can still upgrade. I guess sooner the better.

AMD Athlon XP 2200+

Thermalright SK6 w/ Delta 60 mb (gotta love the whine of 7k rpm delta)

Asus A7V 333

Nanya 512 Mb DDR 333, PC2100

Ati Radeon 8500 64 mb (older card, and probably not that much of use for enthusiasts, but has ramsinks and a new gpu cooler, was able to get over 10,000 3d marks on it at the time and beat most of the clocked down 128 mb LE versions)

Sony CRX210E1 - 48x Cdrw, this model has interchangeable firmware that can be upgraded to a 52x, still have not loaded that firmware on it yet tho

2 x 40 GB 7200 rpm ATA

Also looking to sell at the same time one of my other cases, a silver Chenming Full Tower with window

Just check newegg or ZZF or some other large vendor, look up your system and parts and add up the price. Then take about 20% off or however much you feel is necessary, depending on how new your system is or if there's any damage and etc.

Looking them up on Newegg or ZZF is totally useless because his parts are p;d and most of them aren't sold anymore. I'll look up the prices at some other websites let you know. **Alright got some prices, take a look. All prices are approximates/averages.

CPU: $50
Heatsink: $5
Mobo: $31
RAM: $10
Vid Card: $6
CDRW Drive: $10
HDDs: $40
Case: $70

Thanks for looking into that!

Hmm, gonna see what I can do about selling it to someone as a built computer, I think I can get more than that for it, as opposed to parting it out to computenthusiasts.

Thanks again.

That's what I did with my old computer. I sold it to someone who wanted a PC just to surf the net and chat.

Try Ebay to sell it. I had great success selling old computers.
