Cant run multiples

You can not run 2 winFAH it wont let you ,that blows ,
Well the only thing I tried was make the shortcut ,Properties and enter -local and that doesnt work!! CRAP

I just noticed that there is a console version as well. They just put it up. I'm thinking of running that instead, but not just yet. I have a protein waiting to finish up. Maybe the console version fixes that. Then again maybe not, but it might be worth a try.
Also, there may be a problem that some of you will want to consider before installing the 2.0 client.

Client for MS Networks may need to be bound to TCP/IP on WinME(not Win2000) to make it work which can open a serious security hole. I don't worry about it since I have taken other measures to protect my machine, but it is something to consider. Vijay cannot fix this. It needs to be fixed by the company that is originally responsible for the software.

Also noticed that some of the proteins I am getting have 20 frames instead of ten. The reason for the larger proteins may be to reduce the load on the servers since they take longer. I haven't finished one yet so I don't know how they are scoring them.

Good News! Maybe. I tried to run multiple instances of the console only version and it appears that this is going to work using the -local switch. I am trying it out right now.

that works for the OLD version 1.34 but the new one 2.0 you can not do that ,the way you did the old 1.34, I run 3 clients right now IF they ever recieve new unit,going on 4 hrs now,so I downloaded the new 2.0 and started it , then downloaded it again and put it somewhere else and did the shortcut thing and it wont let me run winFAH 2 times , like before in 1.34 I can run 3

I know that you're not supposed to be able to run two clients in 2.0. but..... that was with the graphical (not screensaver) version. I tried that as well and the client said - "There is another copy of whatever running. This client will shut down. " or something like that. anyway...

What I showed you was the new console version of 2.0. It was posted later in the day and it seems as though it may, can't say for sure, but may work. It doesn't give the error like the other 2.0 client does. :) I did run them both with the -local switch, but I had to start one client, get an ID and a protein then shut it down. Then I started the other client, got the ID and protein and then restarted the other client. It wouldn't give me two different client ID's otherwise.

The local switch does work. Just put a space between the " and the -local. I think it only works on the 2.1 version.
