Hello, need some help here. This is my current setup....
6 Computers on my home network, 5 desktops and a laptop. All running windows xp/sp2, 3 running home edition and 2 pro.

Linksys cable modem to
.
Linksys WRT54G Firmware Version 4.00.7
.
Port 1= Computer 1
Port 2= Computer 2
Port 3= Computer 3
Port 4= To
.
Linksys 8 Port Switch Model #EZXS88W
.
Port 1= Computer 4
Port 2= Computer 5

First of all, i have a hardware and software firewalls, and i run adaware and spybot on all computers daily. With that being said, lately i've been noticing things running real slow on all the computers so i started looking into it. I have cable internet with 5Mbps download and 596Kbps upload. I ran "test my bandwidth" and it was at a staggering .3mbps!!!! I noticed after power cycling the router switch and modem(All on 1 powerstrip) it would be back up to full speed again. This has been happening every day now and i haven't changed anything recently. Any thought on this?

plug all the system nto theswitch if possible - take some load off the router and let the swtch do the hard work ??

try the modem alone with no router into a PC

try 1 PC plugged in at a time - see if it is a single PC

plug in one PC - try it - 2nd PC - try it and so on....

Worth a shot. I like the switch idea, never thought of that. :) Thanks
