Hey guys, I am already starting to get the "I Need a bigger OC bug" and was thinking about doing a phase change system. Although I probably wouldn't be able to do it again until next year, I was thinking I should get some questions answered first by my compadres here at ocforums...

- I would want to cool my CPU/Chipset/Video Card

1) Is it difficult for someone to setup (I have never done anything past air cooling before)

2) Is it expensive to put together a good working phase change system, or to buy a decent kit?

3) If I modded my Antec p-180 do you think I could fit everything in it?

4) Does it weigh-down the system a lot more with one in it to make it much more difficult to transport?

5) What sort of care/servicing do I have to do to it, and generally how often?

6) What are the noise levels generally like?

and if you can throw any additional information that would be conducive to my education I would be appreciative. :santa:

1) Depends on how extreme you wanna go, if you only use a Prommy or a Vapochill on the CPU it's quite easy to set up, but it's a bit more involved compared to air cooling as you need to take care of condensation prevention. If you go for a SLI setup and want to phase change cool both GPUs then it gets complicated, at least you'd need another unit specially modded with dual evaporators.

2) Prices for a single Prommy or Vapochill unit are around $700~1000

3) Due to the construction of the p180, I don't think so. It would also be a shame to butcher such a nice case.

4) about 20kg

5) this I'm not sure about, I've not used my Prommy much so I'm not sure :p

6) hmm, definitely audible - 2x 120mm fans at 1500rpm or so (I think...)
