I am currently useing a gorb( Iknow I got suckered into the hype) anyhow when installing the gorb I broke off one of the clips that it uses to secure to the motherboard,(see pic below) I have rigged up a little device that holds it into place but I havr to tighten it every few weeks(been doing this for about a year now) well I am getting real tired of this now and want a more permanent fix, which leads me to my question. the dragon orb 3 uses the side clips to secure it to the motherboard, well that is great cous I still have them. Just don't know if it will fit on my socket 370(Abit VH6-II), they are desighned for the socket A Athalon/Duron. anyone know if it will work on a socket 370??C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\clips.jpg

well your pic is not their. but if you are talking about the 4 holes around the socked, they wont work on 370. they dont have the mounting holes... i had that problem when designing the watercooling setup i want. if you arnt talkking about the 4 holes then i am not sure. hoped that helped

As your hard drive is not on the internet and your post did not point twords your hard drive i could not see the picture. What i sugjust that you do is scrap the orb completly and use a heatsink that utilizes the four holes in the motherboard, such as the Swiftech 462-A. Good luck.

BTW, there might also be a way to make your custom setup a bit more perminant if we could get a pic.

He's talking about the socket tabs or lugs. The old Gorb used only one and it did it's usual thing, break one off. He's looking for a heatsink that with a clip that utilizes all three lugs on each side.

Take a look at some of the sites that are advertising here. Most sell a wide range of heatsinks. There are a few out there that use all the lugs and will help you. I can't remember which ones they are, but I'm sure that one of the advertisers here should have what you need in stock.

Also take a look around at the other sites heatsink round-up reviews, they are usually chock full of pictures and you'll be able to pick one out from that alone.

As for the dragonorb....I hear it a decent performer, but I try to keep things ending in Orb anywhere near my CPU. But I have heard they do great on the cooler Pentium III.

Thank you kingslayer, you nailed it on the head. The only HSF I have seen that uses all the tabs is the Dorb 3, just don't want to spen $20 on it to find out if it will fit or not, I have a friend in orlando that uses one on his AMD 1.4 and temps are 37c/45c, I figured if it will do this for a AMD 1.4 then it should do a great job on my celly 600, just don't know about the height on a AMD vs A celly2 would hate to crush my core ya know.
