I really like these cats because for some reason my card is MUCH MUCH more stable with them. I can run 590+ core with 5.8s with no arts or locks when normally going over 575 locked it. But, when I ran bf2 with the new cats it did the typical jump jump lag lag thing. I cant STAND the texture problems with 5.6's but they are fast but I can't stand the lagging even worse with the 5.8s. Please tell me someone has figured out what causes this. Thanks!!

hehehe, a fix for this probably has to be done with the drivers. In general BF:2 is FULL of glitches. There are random times after a round is done, BF:2 just closes. There's sooo much more I could talk about but you might want to check out the BF:2 sticky in the games section. (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=394211)

I was just thinking like maybe someone has figured out maybe the problem that caused this since some people have it and some dont. I know some driver packages are like that.... just a simple fix for a big problem. But, I guess we will see down the road since there isnt one now.

Ive gone back to ATI's 5.7's and the problem is basicly gone . I may try the 5.6's , but for now Iam fairly happy compared to the 5.8's .

From what i have gathered the laggyness on BF2 is due to textures still being loaded when you first join a server or a new map starts. It usually goes away after about a minute or so. Another reason you may be getting laggyness is some servers are running VOIP and BattleRecorder. I have found that some of the servers that use battlerecorder are very laggy and jumpy all throughout the map. Im sure drivers have something to do with all that somewhere in there. Hope this answers ur question lol...

I was going to suggest trying the latest Omega drivers. Have you given these a try to see if they'd solve the problem?

Hey Is it lag like your swiming in water (slow FPS)

Or is it stutters like skipping & jumping with (high FPS ?)

If you dont know your fps bring the console down with "~" and type renderer.drawfps 1 hit enter then press ~ again & you can monitor the fps if there realy low then thats your problem, try lowering the graphics quality in the game

I never drop below 55fps so its not low FPS. But, I found the fix for my system. I downloaded ATI Tray Tools and change the PCI latency to 64. Almost cleared the problem up COMPLETELY! I also changed the OpenAL file in BF2 system file to the newest OpenAL file from creative for the lagging issue with an Audigy2.

BF2 is a resource hog like no other. Your skippiness is more then likely due to your lack of memory. I had the same problem with 512mb of memory. Then I bought another 512 stick, and everything was smooth as butter.

yeah, most likely, i tried those tweaks last night, and it made no difference... my fps never go below 30.. yet it skips like every 2 seconds after the game has been loaded... like its reading to the HD

Question guys, are there any 64bit omega's?? I've been trying to find some modded 64bit drivers, but having no luck...
