OK, being a polack cheapskate/wanting to be different for winter, both of these cost $45 for a solution. I would run the tubing around my house about 3 times and have a 600gph pump circulating it filled with antifreeze/water. I figured the surface area of the tubing as being about 760 sq.in, similar to the surface area of the cooling fins of a dangerden cooling cube. The heater cores I don't know the dimensions of other than $13 at autozone.

You mean copper tubing? If so, you still need some form of cooling on that tubing, as the guy in one of our many watercooling articles did was a big box fan, I think he got slightly better temps than a heater core, but every heater core is different, that's the problem. Maybe you could do both?

if you have enough copper tubing it may work as long as you dont overclock

do you mean run the copper tube outside your house? I bet that would work great, as long as your pump could push that much water. Even inside the house would be good as long as you don't have baseboard heaters!:)

Just don't bend it into a spiral, like Redneck said that don't work so well.

I may be wrong but I think you will need a damn good pump to move such an amount of water.
And be sure to do the anti-condensation thing inside your case if the temps outside your house drop far enough below the ambient temperature IN your house (and chances are they do).

but hey, don't let that put you off ;)
Maybe you could make a huge grill-shaped radiator like thing from all that tubing, and attach that to the most windy wall of your house. Don't forget to send us a pic if you do :D

I want to use the $0.18/ft flexible tubing home depot sells, I'm going to run it out the window, and have it go around the yard about 2-3 times, it's gonna be getting cold here soon so I figured just using an ehiem 1060 600gph pump to circulate it should keep it cool enough. If it doesn't work, Oh well, I'm out $30 and I can go buy a couple of heater cores at autozone for $30 bucks and still have as much money spent as buying a dangerden radiator w/shipping.

Hmm, just did some testing with some 3/8 clear plastic tubing I had laying around and I am a nervous about this stuff's insulating tendency. Pouring some approx. 110f(heated in microwave till it was almost uncomfortable to put my finger in it) water through it yeilded it taking about 7-8 secs for my hand to feel the plastic warm. Is using this stuff for a 200ft long radiator a bad idea?

if you are gonna run it OUTSIDE you house, what if it gets hot outside, your would be ****ed

I don't predict temps over 65F for at least 5-6 months.

hay we have the same interests, only im 15 and cany buy guns yet. :( anyway if your gona run that around your house you better have some presure behind that pump. something more than a fishtank pump
