So, I found some RAM (archaic PC100 SDRAM :D )and put it in an old computer of mine, and got redhat installed (RHEL - it has MySQL, FTP, Apache) and got the apache test page to come up. Good. So I searched around for the FTP program (in RH9 it was vsftpd, if I remember correctly) and couldn't find it, OK, I'll find it later. So I go to PHPBB.com and grab the latest phpbb2 package, install it in the /var/www/phpbb/ folder. I go to 192.168.1.3/phpbb, and it gives me an error, saying it can't find the folder, so I created a folder and put a tandom background in it, went to it, the picture was there :eh?:
Alas, a dilemma. I was thinking that maybe I should just put Debian on it, install VNC or something, and do it remotely. But before I do that, I'd like to know how to get PHPBB2 working. And FTP, if you guys know.
