i dont know what the "standard idle" temp is but with my a7m im idling at 47 C. seems a little high to me but i have the new revision of the bios and supposedly it reports high...
I've got a 1.33GHz part overclocked to 1750 and it idles at 39C with a thermalright SK6 and delta 38 fan. This is on an Epox 8K7A.

I just got the new Alph 8035 or something like that which is larger than the swiftech and with my 1400 at 1533 it idles at 50 C and after running prime 95 for 20 min it peaks at 65 C. With it at 1600 or 1620 prime wont even run. Im disapointed as i flew to Bangkok to get the ting. I use a delta 80cfm and a sunnon 40cfm and the difference is minimal. I even put extra spacers to clamp the sink harder on the cpu.
Bothe swiftech and the alpha cant seem to cope with high ferquency cpus.

What are you ambient temps?

I live in Hawaii so the outside temp is pretty high, like around 82 degrees F. My idle temp is 33-34* C, does that seem alright? I dont have all my case fans in yet though.

i just got the new aplha 8045 too. i have a 36/39 cfm sunon fan on it. aimbent temp is 29C 50-60C n/load 65full load.
i had a cak-38 w/ 6800rpm delta that was 65c idle 76full load.
both use cpu shim ( copper )
i also had ac2 on be4 with the cak-38, now i have that blue nanotherm w/ the 8045.. so its better to me..
I've got my 1.2 o/c to 1.4 and I'm idling at 26C and load 35C "after adjusting my bios"

Hey, popadel, you didn't fly from South Africa to Bangkok just for a CPU, did you? Probably seems stupid, but that just jumped out at me.
