Well folks, I got a spare xbox from a friend for $30, the only problem is the hard drive clicks. so i gutted the CD drive out of it and used it to fix mine, so anyways, I now have a spare case. I was thinking about modding it. Maybe just a paint, and some ccl's inside. The paint i was thinking about using was that marage paint from dupli color, I painted a computer case one time with that stuff and it looks pretty sweet. If you guys have any ideas on color to paint it, that would be great. I want something metallic, and I also want it to go with blue CCL's

Im also gonna replace the ring's green leds around the power switch with some blue ones

where would I find that at? and do they have any other colors, im trying to get off black or gray, I want something to really stand out when i take to frends or whatever

but I thought about using el wire insted, but I am worried that its not gonna be bright enough. How bright is it?

scrach teh mirage, im gonna go metallic charcol and metallic silver on the ribbed part between the x, and on the front. Im gonna go searching for paint tomm, hopfully i can find a quart cheap, so i can use my airgun

Well, I got my paint. The "x" is gonna be metallic black, and between the "x" is gonna be metallic silver

I started by cutting out my hole for my jewl mod. I didnt cut it out all the way, If i did, the jewl would just fall thru

You should do the spinning jewel mod. Just take a cooling fan from its frame, snap off the blades, attach the jewel to it, and then mount it to the xbox. It looks sweet.

ya, my top of the case, I primed, and i came out all rough and ****. so i have to sand and just spray the paint on without primer

well, didnt get much done, I was too lazy to feel like messing with it. I cant start sanding the primer off my top, cause its still somewhat takcy. I started clear coating my front and bottom, but the can f'ed up and started spraying all weird, so i'll take it back to autozone and exchange it for a differnt one :mad:

Well, im kinda at a standstill. I have a few runs in my front and top, so I have to wait until thats complety dry so I can sand them out. :mad:

Got the top painted, it looks pretty sweet, except for the few spots where the paint slipped under the masking tape. but its no biggie, i'll just touch them up bf i put my clear coat on. Im also working on my jewel. I'll get some pics when i get home from school.

Here is my jewel. I used oops to clean off the paint, but it kinda screwed the plastic. I'll eventually just buy a aftermarket clear jewel, but for now, this will do.

I put some clear packing tape on the front, to provent scratching wile I'm working with it

Finished. as you can see, that one green spot will NOT come off, I scrubbed for about 20min, and it still didn't come off. It absorbed into the plastic

I have a few runs in the clearcoat, after I sand those out, and let it dry, I'll be able to ressamble ( unitl i order the rest of my goodies: blue ccl's and a blue 80mm fan) hehe

allright guys, the project xbox is offically back in buisness!!

Yesterday, I ordered:

dual 4" Blue ccl's for inside the case
A Blue ccl fan, that im gonna pull the ccl off and use the ring to light up my jewl
And a round IDE cable to ease the clutter.

I got priorty shipping, so it should be here soon. w00t!

nah, thats just a stock xbox top on the case right now, Im still sanding and painting my other one. I also have to put my jewel on and mount the ccl's under the jewel
