Ok well today i was just given a Gateway system that has a socket 423 1.4ghz P4 256k L2 Cache. Has 256mb of PC800 Rambus memory in it with a TNT 32mb AGP 4x video card.
Well here is the problem....
When i boot the computer i get nothing on the monitor, nor any beeps. I tried switching video cards and that didn't fix it. I asked the person that gave it to me when the problem happened, and they said at first it would lose video after being on for so long, then one day it just had no video...
So i figured hmm temp problem?? Took out the CPU and cleaned it off, boy it was hard to get off. I thought i was gonna rip out the cpu from the socket i had to use so much force to get it off. I cleaned up the crap that gateway used, and put on some AS5. Put back the HSF and tried to boot it... again no video??
Could it possibly be the motherboards agp slot? I wish my pci video card didn't burn out a few weeks ago... and this thing doesn't have any onboard video...
Any help would be awsome!
