my dad was having some trouble with crappy ram on his new motherboard (GA-K8U) so i tested my corsair value select pc3200 on his machine. i have two 512mb chips, but his board only sees one of them at a time. i've tried different slot configurations, but still nothing. each stick works by itself on his board, but it just refuses to read both. this has never been a problem on my board (GA-7VT600-RZ). how can we get his board to see the full 1gb?

are you sure it isn't a faulty CPU/memory controller? Athlon64 has the memory controller in the CPU, so while it may be memory controller problem, the CPU would have to be sent back to correct this.
