i was a lucky winner of the chicago giveway! my dad went for me, he just so happened to be in chicago that day for business, and, only 15 minutes away! so, i asked him to show up, he did, got the combo, AND a toolkit! im so happy. cant wait to pop this baby in.
Congrats man, chip is good, MSI mobo not so good!

well, gonna use my 1800 with current board (IWILL KK266+) which i understand will work well,

Congrats, sound like your dad did well. I just got home from the AMD giveaway with my Extreme Performance Project Kit. Going to get some sleep. I will let you know how it is after I get it up and running.

yeah, i gotta wait for mine to get mailed. and, since my dad is away on business right now, it wont be for another day or 2 before it actually gets shipped. oh well, all in due time.

It sould work on the KK266 Plus it has the 3 Phase power :)

I'm the most unlucky person when it comes to raffles, I am soooo jelous

ive heard mixed things about unlocking the chip... heard one guy that could only unlock the 11 multiplier... another that only got the whole numbers, etc.
i dont wanna permanently modify chip, so i think im gonna go the tape route. should be pretty easy... my chip stays VERY cool right now, as you can see from my sig. the XP is supposed to be even cooler too. so, not worried about the packaging getting really hot and peeling tape off or anything.
does radioshack have the tape?

A hearty congratulations on ur bounty... funniest part is that I was there too and I saw a tall guy with thick glasses that got the board and managed to get a tool kit too.....would be funny if that was ur dad...small world after all LOL. :)

my dad isnt that tall, and his glasses aren't thick. my dad is about 6'1" or so, medium build (not fat, muscular), probably dressed very well (had a meeting right after that), suit/tie, etc...
he had 2 toolkits, and 1 cpu/mobo thing ;-) and he rules.

Oh Yes... There was around 10,000 tickets given out, I got there at around 5:15 and I was in the 4600's.

nope, they handed out tickets from four different pads, seattle only had 2000 people come out and the tickets went from 00XXX to 09XXX, theres four different lines, you really think they are gonna break out a fresh pad of 00000 tickets each time?

I think it was closer to about 2000 people. SilentBob and I got there about 2:50am and got some of the first tickets handed out. He was in line 2 and got ticket 02210 and I was in line 3 and got 09842.
hmmm, am praying that AMD makes it to atlanta - am watching my email, hoping we become one of the 15 cities - we ought to cuz we're definitely one of the biggest now............have even told my boss that if it happens , i will be late that day (hehe).........congrats.................

That kinda stinks, makes me feel even worse about not walking away with anything..lol. Did either of u 2 get a board?

hehe, man, i dunno.... those people are tough to come by. everyone likes free stuff. any one of my friends would come, but if they won, i would sell it on ebay for em, and get like half of profit. ill show up though, wish you good luck.

update:
well, i JUST got my chip today, and, as i figured, it does have pits. i dont know what my dad was thinking. it clearly has little black burn marks all over the bridges. guess this one will be a FSB overclock. ill let you guys know how fast it can go.

actually, he owes me a few!
i saved him around $2K on his home theatre system... i even bid on a couple items for him at 4am (during my work week), AND, used my own paypal account, which i supplemented about $60 for some of his stuff... he owed me one.
