Stats for units not showing up

I switched over as soon as I saw 2.0 was out. I'm using the windows console version. When I first started it asked for username so I used 'Rav' (without the www.overclockers.com this time, since I don't need it as I understand) and then team 32 when asked. I've done a bunch of units already but I don't even show up on the stats page, on OC team or just user search. What gives? Anyone else have this problem? I want to be helping out :)

yea the same thing happened to me. i downloaded the no nonsense console version and i completed about 3 proteins and my name never showed up.

will someone figure this out soon.

yes i am very displeased. the only way to turn off the client is to go into the task manager and shut it down from there.

i'm gonna try the other version of fah if this doesnt work by tomarrow i think i'm gonna join seti.

hey ebola, check your client.cfg file for a user ID. if you're missing one, download the graphical version into the same folder, run it until it starts folding and then quit. if it worked like mine did, you should then have a id in your client file which now shows up in the text only version.....lets hope this works :confused: and lets hope we get our stats like we should be...

right now i switched over to the graphical console. i'm going to wait to see if it counts me.

i went and deleted all of the registry entires so this should be a clean instal.

I had the same problem with the text console.

I had it running for a while and checked my client.cfg file and no user ID.

So I just closed the console and restarted it and it went out and fetched a user ID and it is in the client.cfg.

So, I'm thinking there may be an issue with assigning the user ID on the first run of the client, so maybe just try what I did if you have the problem.

***edit*** I just checked another machine that I have running the text client and same problem, same solution to get an ID ****end edit***

And Ebola, don't leave. This is a GREAT opportunity for our TEAM to really make a push in to the new stats. :)

i tried that too and it worked on one, but the graphical did the trick for me. lets keep the wu's coming.

I had that problem on my computer at home. I'll have to check out the client.cfg when I get back.

Just verified it. I put a new copy of the text client on a machine, fired it up, put in all my info and it downloaded the new Core_65, checked the client.cfg and NO USER ID.

Took a CTRL-C on the client. Restarted it and first thing it did was go fetch a user ID. Checked the client.cfg and it is in there now.

I'd say we have a decent fix for that problem...:p

Let everyone know if that works for anyone reading this so we can verify it is not just one raving lunatic here...:D

I'm useing 2kpro and I had the 1.xx still install when I first started the 2.0 folding and the first unit I got was 400 frames and it only took like 3hours to finish but when I went back to send out the finished info and get some new stuff it downloaded 100 frame WU so I checked and sure enough the finished WU for 2.0 was still in the work folder I dont think it ever got sent out. So I went and removed the old folding software and the old work file then I removed the other software the 2.0 and removed it from my reg. but now the stanford site is closed and I cant DL the 2.0 again I couldnt get it last night or a few minutes ago when I last checked.

I just checked and I could get the downloads at Stanford, so you may want to try again.

I would recommend removing ALL traces of the original client (1.xx).

Then put the new one on. See my other posts about getting your user ID, if you are planning on using the text only client.

Got it , I dont know what was going wrong before.

We'll see if it works this time I should have removed all of the 1.xx client.

I tried both the fixes, I just finished a unit and nothing showing up in stats yet. Hopefully they just don't update it often. I have a userid in the cfg file too.

its working now. im on the stats page. i hope the linux console is improved because i'm probably going to be running a dual boot system soon.

i didnt mean to get anyone down by my comments. its rather frustrating when the software is written so poorly.

plus after all the anticipation its hard not to be let down. i was content with the other software having just turned over 4000 wu's on the old stats, i was ready to head for five. but hopefully we changed for the better....only time will tell......

Hi Rav
I noticed that you're still not showing up in the stats.
If you don't see anything in the morning maybe you could post the info from your client.cfg and we could look at it to see if anything is out of the ordinary.
Also. You may also want to check to see if you have more than one core65.exe running. If you have one client running then you should have one core65. Two clients=two core65's, etc. There was a problem with that, especially if the client crashed or wasn't shut down properly. It may be worthwhile to install the 2.0 graphical client to see if that works.

On a sidenote- Ebola, I completely agree. This software was poorly written (not the core, which works well, but the client that supports it) and should not have been released in its current form.

I swtiched all machines over to 2.0 yesterday. I have completed 9 workunits, but still am not showing up in the stats. I did download the text console, checked the client cfg, and it shows robjustice team 32, but not showing up in the stats. I checked the stats at 1.34 and it is showing credit at that page. Im going to download the graphic version when I get home, and try that.

Do you have a user ID in the cfg file? Not your folding name, but a real long string of text and numbers?

If not, see my other posts here about how to fix that. That could be why you are not getting credit.

This is what my client.cfg file looks like. Have a look at your files to make sure you've got them set right. I installed in a new directory.

I changed my name from my ver 1.34 to reflect my Forum name.

I just installed 2.0 over my 1.34...other than no UserId which I easily fixed by doing what the FAQ at stanfords said to do. Cntrl-C to restart the client to get it to fetch a ID.

where do we check stats for 2.0 ?

I couldnt get 2.0 to work properly and count my stats I've finished 4 WU with 2.0 installl and I've gotten no credit.

I'm now using 2.1 the graphical version and now I'm getting credit for my WU.
