one of my friends, his mom just bought a GeForce 4 FX5500.

well she accidently bought the AGP version, and she only has PCI in her computer.

She said she'd sell the Card to me for a straight 60 bucks.

I'm still using a Geforce 3 TI200.

At the moment, i'm kinda low on cash and i don't have the money to get a 6800, or a 7800 or anything like that. but i know i can dig up 60 bucks if needed.

How much improvement would i see over my GeForce 3 TI200?

So, is it worth shelling out just 60 bucks? How much gain would i possibly see? Oh and does the 5500 Support BattleField 2? ( my TI200 doesn't play it at all ).

So...any thoughts?

if you can talk her to 55 or 50 its worth it. It is a DX9 compatible card, which is will be a upgrade from your ti200.

That card will make you wonder why you didn't get one sooner. Seriously. The oldest card i have that is in a working system is a Ti500. You should see the difference between it, and my 6800GT.

It will definitely be a huge upgrade, and they can be OC'd also on top of that. NO, it may not be a 6800 or super zip 7800 series, but it is a substantial upgrade from what you have now.

If you have the extra cash, but don't have alot I would do it. With the Ti200 being old, there is a chance it could fail, and if so that 50-60 card would be a steal then.

Thanks guys. yeah, i'll probably get the card.

Actually i only have to pay 40 bucks for it. But thats only because I bought her son ( my friend ) a ticket for X-fest ( a concert ) for 20 bucks. so he owes me 20 bucks...well to make it easy, she'll just sell me the card for 40, and i waive that 20 that he owes me.

so i'm SURE i can scrounge up 40 bucks without much of a problem.
