Andy just pointed out something to me today so I thought I would pass along the news to everyone here. :attn:

OCZ has switched back to TCCD for all of the Platinum modules that have been TCCD in the past. The 3200 Platinum Rev 2 and PC4200 and PC4800 Platinum are now TCCD. Production switched late last week and should be hitting stores this week.

Our PC4800 Elite remains the best of the best, being binned at PC4800 2.5-4-4 and PC3200 2-2-2. At PC4800 speeds tighter timings are often seen. Of course this will vary from system to system and depends heavily on your CPU.

We at OCZ and no doubt many of you know that TCC5 = TCCD when properly tested prior to building modules. For those of you that only want TCCD for whatever reason, we have your memory.

The revisions are: Rev 1.0 = TCCD. Rev 1.1 = TCC5.

Will these still be running on BP PCB's?

Glad to see TCCD making a comeback :attn:

why the change, since they were very comparable chips?

Well is nice to hear that, since I will soon be at shopping for new memory, and I am aiming at PC3200 Platinum.

I would guess that because most people still wanted TCCD over TCC5 we switched back, but I don't know for certain.

They will still be on BP PCB's until something new comes along ;)

I bought mine OCZ Plat rev2 2x512 kit...for more then a month ago(had to wait about 20 days to be available at my local store) but I'm not shure are they realy TCCD chips or TCC5.. Removing heatspreaders...MISSION IMPOSIBLE!!! at least without dameging modules with hammer and crowbar... As I'm not in position to try it out in some demonical machines to push them over 270mhz>... So I'm still little suspicous. Maybe SteveOCZ could give me some info about that?

so basically, the new name would be OCZ EL DDR PC-3200 Platinum Revision 1.0 ?
cause i am still shopping around(yes STILL.. :[ ) for the best price on a tccd type ram. i found some OCZ EL DDR PC-3200 Platinum Revision 2 for $165. and according to http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3213
and
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=43659
its supposed to be tccd already, and not tcc5?
how do i kno if it has PCB or not? sorry, i am a bit confused. :p and how would i kno when to buy the ram so that its for SURE tccd? let the old stock of tcc5 sell out and have new tccd come in

this is the one im looking at.. from monarchcomputers.
