As some of you know im new to building my own system

Ive got a question with bios settings

I have an athlon XP 1800, do i set the CPU FSB to 133mhz? im assuming I do

also the motherboard says it has a 266fsb

clarify for me pppllleassse =)

ok...
133 is the real fsb but with ddr you get 266 hence double data rate 133=266
100=200
150=300
166=332
so on a so forth,
when qdr is released
133 will = 532
150 = 600
166 = 664
mmmmm yummy!

This is not correct... The 266 Mhz FSB refers to the inernal clock speed of the CPU which features a double pumped FSB ( 2 x 133 mhz FSB = 266 ) like wise the 200 mhz FSB CPU's also feature an internally double pumped FSB of 100 mhz ( 2 x 100 mhz FSB = 200 ). Both these CPU's will run on SDRAM mobo's and this situation has nothing at all to do with DDR or QDR.
The Pentium 4 as a matter of interest runs on a 100 mhz FSB which is quad pumped to run at 400 mhz Internally

To make a long story short, I think you should set it at a minimum 133. Try going higher, report your results...
