I just updated my comp. i went from intel to amd, well i need to format my hd and it will not format for nothing, everytime i try it says the volume is in use by another procsess, does anyone have any ideas?

formating problem

to the forums.You need to make sure you boot from the CD and initiate a format of the HDD or install of the OS from the CD.

Basically, you need to boot to the Windows CD, start the Setup and format it when you get to the install location screen.

To boot to CD, go into the BIOS and choose boot order or something (can't remember exactly where it is) and change HDD 0/1 to CD-Drive. then put the cd in the tray, save to CMOS and reboot.
