View Full Version : 2nd SATA drive not detected

I just bought a WD 200gb SATA drive today and it doesn't want to show up. I have it plugged into port 2 on the VIA VT8237 and the current 80gb on port 1 of the same chip (of the board in my sig of course). How come when I boot it shows BOTH HDDs as missing?

the old 80gb will boot by itself in either SATA port but the new drive wont boot by itself or with the other drive in either SATA port.

tried different cables?

Maybe the drive is faulty?
