Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum and overclocking altogether. I just built a new pc and curently running a 1.4 athalon and a Shuttle AK32 motherboard. I was just curious how far I can take this up. I went into bios and i can change my bus up to 166 and my ratio up to 13. Any suggestions on this would be appreciated. Also will i have to buy a bigger fan and add a case fan?

first thing to do is to check your cpu temps. You can usally do this in the bios. Or you could down load motherboard monitor 5.

once you've checked your temps, make sure you're running below 50c at full load.

if your core is nice and cool you should be able to bump the processor speed up slowly. Check the frontpage of this site for the cpu database. you'll find 1.4s in there. Some people run them higher than 1.6 air cooled.

Yeah you`ve got to look the temps of the cpu complete load; download Motherboard Monitor 5; it`s free and it gives acurate readings...

What tipe of heat sink do you have on the processor?; its important to know since materials of the sink may play and important role in temperature...
I would suggest Water cooling; but read very carefully first; in Overclockers.com there are many water cooling reports and ideas on making or buying watercooling accesories.

As they say in my country.... Agale!
