Hi All,

May you be blessed and praised and may you have five beautiful wives and many children if you can answer this question.

My computer case has a firewire cable for plugging into the motherboard, but the mobo cas no such connection, is there an add in card for PCI that can take the cable plug?

there are plenty of add-on cards that have internal IE1394. Your mo-bo, actually does have Firewire connectors, just not the typical ones. On your system, they are the 2 long white plugs, to the left of and between the 2nd-3rd PCI slots. It is actually to the left of the A7N8X Deluxe writing on the mo-bo.

Asus should have supplied you with the bracket that has USB-ie1394 plugs for the back slots. You can use that as an example for wiring, and also utilize the molex from the bracket. Usually they stick with the color codes to simplify things, if not you might have to use a DMM and do it the hard way. If you are creative enough, take the plug from the bracket and mod it to your case wire, and it will work.

it's not for that computer, do you have any specific examples of the firewire cards you mentioned?
