those screenshots d94's showing are from an old ati/crytek tech demo released with the original farcry - theyre not a new engine, they were rendered using the old one!

Far Cry 2 is a DX10 game, and since DX10 is nowhere near time for release, its not coming out this year.

Now Far Cry: Instincts is coming out, and that is going to be pretty cool, with some updated visuals. but by no means, as l33t as the FC2 vid.

My guess is late 06 or early 07 for a release since the next version of DirectX (or what ever they are calling it now) won't be released it sounded like til Vista comes out.

Intresting never the less. Some new features to the mix which will be a nice welcome. Wonder if its one of the games that will utilize that PDU.

Lets clear up a few things. DX10(as well as dx10 card) will be out as soon a Vista comes out. Vista comes out towards the end of 2k6, so that is when Directx10(since Vista is based around it) will be readily available, and we will start seeing the release of dx10 games.

This in NOT the Far Cry 2 engine. This is a tech demo showcasing DX10 technologies. In fact, there isn't even any sort of indication that there will ever be a Far Cry 2. Everyone is saying it's the Engine for FarCry 2 because someone labeled it as such when uploading the video. There is no confirmation that I am aware of that this has anything to do with Far Cry.

Crytek's next game will be released some time after Vista comes out(not too long after). It will be a dx10 game, and it will be published by EA. Since Ubisoft owns the rights to Far Cry, the next Crytek game can NOT be Far Cry 2.

I was wating long time for Crytek to show of next FarCry which is my second favorite game of all time and now that I seen it I'm droooooooooooling all over myself.

How do you enable hdr? Is it for the 64-bit patch? I cna ru that but never tried it as i beet the 32 bit version easily.

I have tried riddick butcher bay with shader model 3 on :)

To enable HDR, you first need to have a 6xxx series video card

after that, just hit the ~ key to drop down the console, and type \r_hdrrendering 7

and you are set.

I just wonder what kind of hardware that was running on, as that makes Unreal 3.0 look bad. Some secret Nvidia test bed that utilizes 2000 watts of powah, and 4 7800 GTX's in SLI? (mmmmm)

that demo is what i've been waiting for in pc games. FULLY INTERACTIVE ENVIRONMENTS???? HELL YES :D :D and the dynamic day/night cycles and all that .. oh mama :drool:
