ok well first this is not for me so i don't know all the infomation.
Well anyways my friend got a new computer a few weeks ago.
its a 1.2 thunderbird am not really sure what the board is.
the problem is that it always locks up. It is not overclocked and it is not a heat problem. It has a geoforce 2 7700, soundblaster live!. 512 mb ddr ram and runs windows me.
this is all i know right now anyone have any ideas why it would lock up?

Do you know how far along in the boot process before it locks up? or does it lock up in windows?

i learned some more about this problem
- the mother board is an EPOX (tells me the one without raid)
and that its just random freezing
somtimes in windows others on boot up thats why i thought it could be heat
it run around 30c idle 40-45 full boot

friend is having the exact same problem (although he has an asus board with a 1gHz chip)
we're thinking its a heat issue. his hsf is the POS stock one that came with his chip. when i slapped my swiftech on, he was doing just fine and his boot temps drops significantly. just thought i'd share my experiences...hope it helps
