If I were to build a bong, and got typical results, would I need to seal up my cpu socket with all of that gooky silicon to prevent condensation damage?

No, not unless you are using a pelter.

or unless it's _very_ humid . . . a bong can get your coolant temps slightly below ambient, but only a few degrees C.
