Anyone know much about this stuff:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146395
mushkin Enhanced 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Dual Channel Kit System Memory - Retail
I have never had a problem with Mushkin, so that's why I think I will stay with them. Just want something that will do 3-3-3 ish at 220 ish.

Well not much is known so far about 1GB sticks from either companys but as far as those go they would be great if you were to run them on stock settings since they will not go to far on the OC. I got some High Peformance with tight timings and they can't go past 225MHz.
If you want solid RAM that will do stock settings then yes, if you want something that will OC fairly good then you need to look elswere. Also, since you are Mushkin fanboy they you might look into eXtreme Performance 1GB sticks since they are much better then these when it comes to higher clocks.
RedDragonXXX, I am sure you meant no disrespect, but think if someone has a good experiences with a companies products and they continue to buys their products they are satisfied customers not fanboys.
Jiggamanjb, I have heard a lot of good things about Crucial and Crucial Ballistix 1 gig sticks.

Yea, didn't mean it as disrespect. I just used the term, sorry if it came out wrong.
I'm from Europe and English is not my native, so sometimes I mix stuff up :p
Not a problem. I live in the States and I mix stuff up all the time. Hmmm, I might just mix me a drink.:)

I'm sure you know RedDragon that each module are individual and even the same modules can perform differentally. Sometimes there might be quality issues between the batches that chip manufacturers provides to us, which may lead to results like you're having there and I am sorry for it because you excepted to get something better results out of those.
There is just so many possible reasons what can happen during the manufacturing process, but if chips are not good quality when they arrives to us, then there isn't anything we can do about it than order another batch.
jiggamanjb,
The memory modules you're talking about should do easily ~220MHz with latencies you described when looking the average overclocking results of these modules. Still, I cannot guarantee you more than specified frequency and timings.
wow no doubt go with the ballistix 2x1gb dual pack..these sticks run 270 -3-3-3 perfectly..

Thanks for the replies! Well, I'm still running an XP chip and my NF7 board really doesn't like to go above 220, so that's why I am looking for something in that range.
At those speeds the regular Crucial would work and be much cheaper. However, one thing worth checking is how well the NB memory controller would handle that much ram. As I recall NF2's have issues with large amounts of ram. I know they handle a total of 1 gig fine but 2 gigs I am not so sure of.

Well from the Abit forums, they say as long as I use a CPC -off BIOS should be fine. I've used both CPC-on and CPC-off BIOS and do see a difference when using more than 512MB RAM, hopefully that will carry over into the 2GB range. I looked up the Crucial and it's $10 cheaper and the OCZ is $5 cheaper, but like I said before, I've never had a problem with Mushkin so for $10 I'd stick with them.
That sounds fine, I just wanted you to double check. Good luck with them.

I'm running 2x1GB of OCZ memory right now (OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K) at 228mhz 3-3-3-8 - 1T
and i've had it higher at a 2T timing
It also nicely runs 2-3-2-5 - 1T upto 210mhz as well. I think this stuff is reasonably priced too.

Thanks Nebuchadnazzar, that's what I wanted to hear!!
well, with the ballistix sticks, they can rudn up to like 275 1:! 8-3-3-3 I bet they could run 7-3-3-2.5 @ 220

Then why sell them? Do you think it is a sound business decision when you recieve "bad batch" or not meet expectation, but go ahead sell them anyway?
I dont think so.

I think he is referring to a bad overclocking batch. As long as they run at the speeds and timings specified by the manufacturer, then it is a very sound decision to sell them.
i have 4 512 sticks from them
(2 GIG)
