I have a 700 Mhz Duron, with an MSI K7T Pro Motherboard.

What is the highest I can overclock this and how would I do it, and what do I need??

I have never overclocked before, but I am an electronics engineering technologist. So I think I can take the task on!! :)

you can email me at ddonais@dryden.net or just reply here.

Thanks

Welcome to the forums. I had my Duron (stepping AKCAR) up to a max 980. You might want to check to cpu database to get some ideas.

It's very hard to say, it depends on a lot of things. Things like what stepping the CPU is, what cooler you use, how good your heat transfer is from the CPU to the HSF, etc.
There is a lot of things that has something to say, but the easiest way to find out, is to give it a try. Just be sure to keep an eye on the temp's, don't go above 60C!
Good luck :)

I have a 750 AKCA that does 1104 pretty stable. 1095 rock solid. I could use a little more voltage.

Link to the FAQ in my sig. Should answer some basic questions. You'll need to:

1. Unlock your CPU
2. Play around testing its limits at stock voltage.

I imagine your chip should do at least 800 or 850 MHz without upping voltage. I had a AMCA Duron 700 and my final overclocks were 970 MHz at 1.85 volts (maximum under available settings) and 1 GHz at 2v (after volt mod to motherboard).

You have to choose how you want overclock. 1.You can set up your FSB in BIOS.2 You have to unlock your Duron. Then you have 2ways- you have to cange multiplier on processor, or in Bios- (in case your MB support it). I have Duron650 on mainboard MSI-K7T Pro 63-30 and I have same problem. I have FSB set to 110 and it runs at715Mhz.

Mine used to run 24/7 @ 980Mhz...I hit 1Ghz on a very cold winter day once, hehe.
