panasonic 5.1 home theater COAX

hello
i have a panasonic 5.1 theater system, and i have it hooked up to my computer through the coax out on my proaudigy 7.1 card. however im not getting 5.1 theater sound. now as to my understanding this is due to that the sound that is going out is not ac3 encoded, however i downloaded the ac3 tool, and it still isnt 5.1 and not only that, but the config isnt registering any sound at all.

im wondering if i am doing anything wrong, and if it is possible to get 5.1 from the coax.

You will get AC3 sound only if the source is AC3 OR you can go into Creative Control and in one of the tabs there is a "Simulate Surround Sound" option, its called CC3D or something like that (I don't have control centre installed so I can only point you in the right direction) ALSO there is an option in EAX tab (I'm not 100% sure its there) thats tests all of your speakers and it should work as well.
