I have been through two 9800pros and the same thing has happened. The first one I got 2 years back, on Christmas and I had a blast with it, I overclocked it, then I even flashed it to an XT. But the following Christmas when I got my new case, I transferred everything over and then blam... weird things all over the screen and they are just big long bars and don't even show a picture but a little tiny box on the screen (which is the mouse). Didn't bother sending it back since I flashed it to Xt and I know it's wrong.

Two weeks later, Ibought another one from Circuit City because they were on a good sale. Didn't even bother overclocking it or flashing it. I've now had it for a good 9 months and I decided to sell it to a friend at work, he called me back up and told me something was wrong (installing it in a xeon 2.6, agp pro) he brought it back, gave the money back. Stuck it in my computer... and BLAM! Deja Vu. Same exact thing as before... can someone help me out? I can send it back for the manufacturer warranty can't I? If so, how do I do so? Do I need a receipt to prove I bought it 9 months ago? He said he'd reimburse me some money if I can't send it back.

thanks guys.

I had a similar problem with my old 9800pro and it turned out to be a bad memory chip(s) that was causing the artifacting.

Maybe the card got hit with a static charge or one of the electrical components got damaged moving the card from your case to his.

I would give ATI a call and see what they can do for you, I do not know if they are going to require a reciet from you though.
