Got a couple of questions:

1) If I install the 21.83 driver from NVidia, will my 3D glasses keep working with the graphics card, or do I have to wait for ASUS's slow a$$ to get new drivers out?

2) With a 3DMark 2001 score of 5845 should I even be concerned about the new drivers? (no overclocking at all).

I use ASUS video cards. I curently have the V7700 deluxe. I installed the V8200 ASUS drivers which ran fine. Next i installed the 12.60 drivers and gained 300+ points on 3dmark2001. You can get 7000+ 3dmarks with your setup if you overclock it and run the detonator drivers. I've never tried the version your talking about yet but heard they are better when using WinXP.

Actually, I am using the 12.60 driver right now. The reason I haven't overclocked the card yet is that it runs pretty hot (about 50 degrees according to SmartDoctor and 40 degrees according to my Digital Doc which is not optimally placed right now).

As to WinXP, NEVER. I tweak my hardware almost daily. Can you imagine the nightmare of having to call Micro$oft to get a new key that often? They would have to pay me some high dollars to put up with that kinda bs.

Anyone else out there that can answer my original questions?

1) i dont know the ins and outs but if it has its own plug then it probably will not work

2) depends, do you need the extra speed? if your games run ok then dont bother

I'm pretty sure that the 3D glasses that come with the Asus Pure cards are only supported by their drivers. The card will still work, and will probably perform a little better, but the 3D glasses will not work until Asus moves their butts into gear and gets a driver made based on the new Detonator XPs.
Peace
John

Thanks guys, that pretty much answers my questions. Guess I'll wait till ASUS comes out with Det4 drivers in the next decade or so.
