Yes they can, but be wary of damage from the heat; discoloration or swelling or obvious burning. The are basically pretty hardy things.

The code is: bad boys r*** our young girls but violet gives willingly. That is how I actually learned it in 1972

Thanks for the reply, and the welcome. New to the whole modding scene, I am coming up with some good ideas, I just have to formulate them now. It's a pleasure to be able to read some of the posts on modding. I peeped the calulator and will put it to good use....
 
Of course that is assuming you're not desoldering SMD resistor. They are coded by numbers only. If that's the case, take the 3rd number, it will be 10^x and then multiply the result with the first 2 numbers.

Example, 473 would be 47*10^3 or 47000 ohms.
